Final Surge Setup and Technical Q&A

Yup…me too having issues. Diving into it tonight  SUCCESS - I’m not sure which action had them show up but I reset the autosync and then I pushed the Manual Workout Push button on my iphone and VOILA…the Final Surge folder appeared. Your technical pictures SCARED my into action. :scream: :flushed: :open_mouth:. Glad it’s done now. Thanks for the push.

I edited all workouts, so it should be working now.

I am already missing the lovely “free” rest time rather than having to do a set power. Makes me realize how much low I go during the “easy” during recovery time.

You can still go low. Even more so when the effort is very hard. It’s silly that we need to be bound by some short-sighted tech setup that has nothing to do with training and performance.

I agree. I set mine to like 20% of FTP to 40% of FTP.

Yay!! Thanks. I was trying to be a rule follower and also wanting stars for the XP.

Does anyone else get duplicate results in Final Surge? I suspect it’s from syncing Zwift. @Coach_Theia Would you recommend simply deleting the dupes as they come in or unsyncing Strava?

I get dupes too. There is an answer in FAQ. I can’t recall the details. I delete them because I’m so OCD.

@laurasibson I’d recommend cleaning up the connections (i.e., connect Zwift directly to FS and delete Strava) instead of giving yourself the extra step of deleting duplicates.

Step-by-Step: Prevent Duplicate Zwift Activities in Final Surge

Step 1: Pick ONE sync source to Final Surge
Zwift can upload activities to:

  • Strava
  • Garmin Connect/Wahoo
  • Final Surge (directly)

To avoid duplicates, make sure Final Surge is only pulling from ONE of these.

Step 2: Use Direct Zwift-to-Final Surge Sync (Recommended)

  1. Log into Final Surge.
  2. Go to “Settings” > “Connect Apps”.
  3. Click “Connect” next to Zwift and authorize the connection.
  4. Done. Now your Zwift rides upload directly.

No need to connect Strava (or Garmin/Wahoo) if you use direct Zwift sync.

Step 3: Disable Other Syncs to Final Surge
If Zwift is still connected to Garmin and/or Strava, and those are also syncing to Final Surge, you might get duplicates.

  • Go to Final Surge > Settings > Connected Apps
  • Click “Disconnect” next to:
    • Strava
    • Garmin
      (whichever you don’t want syncing)

Thank you, @Coach_Theia! I couldn’t find the personal settings option when I was looking yesterday. I kept clicking the gear at the top of the page, but that was only navigation settings.

I feel like I might want Garmin synced, though, for when I start riding outdoors, yes?

I think now that I synced my wahoo to Zwift because i want that XP credit for IRL and i find the training data in Zwift interesting to look at compared to intervals, it’s loading twice into FS - i went ahead and deleted there. I myself look more at intervals.icu and that still is only syncing one time at least - can you say data nerd overload?

I need an infusion of “data nerd”. The data makes my head spin and my eyes glaze over.

I need to do that too. But I need to figure it out. Is it easy, for me, to do @PaleGail ?

I’m with you @Gossimrr needs to be easy! :wink:I am just so wired for sound and so connected every where in my life AND it takes time to do it right! I’ve got my Garmin up and running nut now the silly thing is not detecting my W/kg so I have to trouble shoot that. Not too much outside riding yet but it will come. My neighbour is a real nerdy (his words not mine) engineer and said he can help but I’ll probably just take it in to my Local Bike Shop here - they are great. :+1:I had a gremlin ( or maybe it was Scotty the squirrel) in my Discord this week. No audio not matter what tried so I had to ride the TTT with not being to hear my team. :scream_cat:A few written prompts helped. It was great for my focus though! It was only after uninstalling and the reinstalling that it finally re-jigged itself. :exploding_head:

To sync your outside with Zwift? Yes here’s the Zwift instructions - i am getting ‘extra’ into Final Surge but it did not send extra into intervals
Did I misunderstand what the question was? Wouldn’t be the first time this week

@PaleGail funny enough it’s connected. So I’ll see if it works when I finally ride outside. Thanks for the info.
