Foam rolling before strength training

Here is what our Strength & Conditioning Coach Jess Elliott has to say about foam rolling before workouts:

"I start with foam rolling in order to mobilize soft tissue throughout the body; this is referring primarily to the muscles and fascia and how the two interplay together. Ideally, athletes should be foam rolling prior to all training sessions (sport and weight training) to ensure the soft tissues are performing optimally. If you’re crunched for time, you can focus on the muscles about to be worked and/or any areas that are problematic for you (IT bands, quads, and calves tend to be popular with endurance athletes). The most important thing is to prioritize self-care for your soft tissues!
