@DarleneA that’s why I want it too. Which finger did you wind up choosing? I’m in a quandry.
I went with the one that fit my index finger on my left hand (I’m right handed). The good thing is it will also fit my middle finger on that hand though it’s a little looser there. Below my knuckle is a little meatier on my index finger so it’s a tighter fit, and my middle finger is thinner below the knuckle. So I figure if my hands swell in warmer weather and it’s too tight on the index finger I can switch it to the middle.
I tried the discount code above and it has already been used. Anyone else have a code that more than one of us can use? I am so torn about this expense. lol. My fear is I won’t use the data but can’t really predict that without trying it. hehe.
@bkolden looks like a few people were able to use the code. When I got it a while back it didn’t tell me whether there was a limit.
I’m wondering if it expired. Guess I waited too long. I may still get it but still agonizing! lol
@bkolden if you decide it looks like I can share a link with 3 friends and I haven’t yet same thins $50 US off and 6 mon membership free
I like mine i sized for my index finger @gosimrr but found it getting tight so it’s on my middle finger a little looser there but once I get thru this crazy dry weather I can probably move it back I’ve got my humidifier running constantly but it’s still only like 20-25% humidity in my place and I’m trying to drink a ton a water to offset it also for my body
Ooooo… I would love the discount. I’m thinking I will get it. My hubby was supportive and we are calling it my early birthday present. lol
I’ll get it to you @bkolden
Got my Iura ring last night. Was so excited. I can’t get it to connect to Bluetooth. Spent an hour trouble shooting. Contacted customer support. Can take up to 7 days for a response. . I was so disappointed.
Oura. Darn autocorrect
@gosimrr did you do their help stuff? Sometimes if I’ve had a ton of stuff connected to my phone via BT I have to turn BT off and back on, make sure all my other apps on my phone are cleared and have it on the charger if that helps
It also probably needs to update the firmware which might make it harder to start
@PaleGail I actually found some help on Reddit and have it on now. Thanks for all the suggestions.
please help me understand the oura ring. I am not entirely sold on it. I have had it for a week. Do I need to give it more time? I have an active job so I don’t really need to know that I need to more more or I reached my activity level for the day. I do like knowing that I have gotten some REM and deep sleep which is more than I thought I was. (I need to listen to the Huberman podcast on sleep again).
Maybe I don’t know enough about it yet. It tracks my rides to work but they usually record longer than they are and I wind up editing them. They also record them as moderate activity which I edit to “light”.
I’m on an iPhone so any resources would be appreciated. Thanks!
@Gossimrr I don’t bother adjusting length or intensity of activities on the Oura. I sync Strava to Apple Health, then Apple Health to Oura, so my Strava activities go to Oura.
It’s still too early for the ring to learn your particular markers, so you need to give it a few more weeks. Over time, it will know what level of activity is too much for you, for example. That’s also when “Readiness” will make more sense. The main features I use are sleep and readinesss. Within Readiness there is HRV, body temp, resting HR.
I use all the info to learn patterns on what I do, how I feel, and how I perform based on those markers. I learned overtime what habits and behaviours help vs. hinder my energy level, health, recovery and performance. Unless you are an observer of your habits/nutrition/etc. and how they affect those makers, the Oura will not be as useful.
@Coach_Theia I feel that I do observe my habits and nutrition and activities. I feel quite in tune with my body. I actually log my food everyday. I have been tracking my waking and bedtime BG levels.
I thought I linked the apps togeteher strava, apple health and oura. I’m not the smarest techy sooo, I think I did it correctly.
I’ve been looking at sleep and readiness as well.
I’ll give it a bit more time. Thanks for your input.
@Gossimrr curious as to what are some of the things you were hoping to see?
Gaining more insights into my nutrition and blood sugar impacts on my energy levels. I do see the confirmation of my sleeping.
That’s why I’m asking if I need to give it more time. Also I don’t know if I know enough about it. I am going to look for some videos tomorrow.
Here is my activity for the day so far. It has my bike ride as low activity yet me walk to the farmers market as as medium. And my ride isn’t recorded as a workout. Yet this morning is asked if my walking around the house was a WO.
I am on an iPhone. I think I have paired to Strava so this isn’t making sense. If any iPhone users can help me understand this I’d be appreciate. Haven’t found a YouTube video that talks about this yet.
I use my Apple Watch to record my activities such as cycling and going for an exercise walk, yoga, strength training, etc and have it paired with the Oura app so my activities are counted correctly in the app. It does account for the rest of the time when I was walking around stores and doing errands. I’m not sure if Strava activities go to Oura? Do you have an Apple Watch? Here is my activity today with my bike ride being high and my walk before the ride as medium. The rest of my normal activity is low to medium (things not recorded as a workout on my watch).
@DarleneA no Apple Watch but I did go back to apple health and checked what’s sharing. I’ll see what that does on Tuesday.
