Yes please!! I’m a baker that limits her baking (don’t need the extra carbs) not a cook so recipes are always welcome! Even my predictable cooking self likes to change it up once in awhile
Here you are Gail
C_A_P_E_R_S!!! I absolutely LOVE capers!!
@Coach_Theia then you must try broccoli rabe! I am not a fan of anything you listed LOL. But I will try all those things, OHHHH and swiss chard. Comes in pretty colors and easy to grow.
@hollybw I am mostly vegetarian and don’t do dairy. I say mostly because when my son makes something and asks me to try it, I do. He is a meat eater big time and cooks really well, I just have a bite and will compliment him. I have been making some of James’s recipes that @Stefanie posted.
First workout since 30th June! Rewarded myself with some cod, rainbow salsa, watercress and rocket. With a little side of toasted corn chips
I’m not great with fish so Hannah cooked it, removes the skin and flaked it for me

@gosimrr i had some Swiss chard tonight with (yet again) pizza - i got some at the farmers market last week -
@hollybw @Coach_Theia now i have to go to the store for capers! (And brussel sprouts i didnt get any last weekend)
I have to look again at @Stefanie and James’ recipes to see what i might want to try this weekend!!
@Michelle can Hannah help me out also? I can handle salmon and tuna but after that, I’m clueless with cooking fish
Dinner tonight before VO2 workout: brown rice with turmeric and fresh green beans from the garden and tempeh marinated in a little barbecue sauce
Gonna need this recipe from James just saying
This looks amazing!
I have been super tired; hence I don’t cook and make poor food choices. It is a vicious cycle for me. I am hoping all your delicious pictures inspire me to break this cycle.
This was something James made up @PaleGail, no recipe. He does that a lot and then when something turns out really amazing and I ask him if he knows what he did and can replicate it again he stutters, er, um,uh, maybe?
My daily breakfast (I workout in the morming): oats with 1 scoop of whey protein (20g) and cinammon. (2hs before workout) Simple and plain- I dont really like to mix fruits or seeds or anything else really
I wasn’t sure what thread to ask this question but what protein bars do you recommend? I typically eat a half protein bar midmorning at work usually with a banana or orange. What I have been eating lately is from Costco but I don’t have a membership so are hard to get.
Okay so I am fueling for big race tomorrow. This is my lunch. I had a big breakfast and a snack before (its 1.30 PM now)
50 % of the meal new potatoes
A few slices of grilled halloumi cheese (hard cheese with proteins)
Some greens (broccoli, lettuce, small amount of sprouts)
A spoon of bernaise sauce.
I have a little pre race workout in a couple of hours.
These are all gut-friendly food for me. My guts are very aggrevated today, keep running to the toilet so need to not upset it more. I know its because I had garlic seasoned sauce with my wok two days ago.
@Silje I love that cheese. I don’t eat dairy anymore as it makes it hard for me to breathe. I hope your gut settles down before the race.
My recovery lunch after this morning’s workout and alpe:
Brown rice with about a tablespoon of sunflower butter, flax seeds, pepitas, dried dates, a heaping tablespoon of homemade unsweetened red currant jam, and a splash of soy milk. Yum.
I’m posting these “blondies”. I made them with some substitutions( applesauce for sugar and GF flour for almond flour, and sunflower butter almonds make my tongue swell) and really liked them.

@kellynoelharman oh gosh can I relate!! I’ve never even heard of most of the food here - I really have to make some changes - it really is a cycle!
Can James just turn into a hello fresh kinda thing and cook for us all?!
@PaleGail brilliant idea! I’d be all over that!
